I've been in recruitment for 14-plus years, and I'm still in it. I've been the consultant not hitting target, the manager watching a team lose momentum and not knowing how to fix it, the person who felt like they were doing everything "right" and still not seeing results.
That's exactly why I don't do generic advice — and it's not just history. I'm inside recruitment businesses every week, all different shapes and sizes, and I'm still hands-on doing BD myself — not just for my own business, but for recruitment agencies too. I know the problems because I'm still in them, not because I remember what they used to feel like.
I'm an accredited coach and licensed DISC trainer through The Coaching Academy (TCA), and I've spent the years since building Kate O'Neill Coaching into a business that works with people at every level — graduate to director — because the problems change shape depending on where you sit, but they're rarely solved by a one-size-fits-all course.
I don't arrive with a set programme and try to make your problem fit it. I listen first — properly, not just enough to sell you something — then bring in whichever combination of training, coaching, DISC or Fractional BD Leadership actually solves what's in front of us. Sometimes that's one thing. Sometimes it's all four running at once.
And I do it face to face. I'm not someone who sits online at home running things over Zoom — that's not my style. I get in the room with you and your people, regardless of location, because I know that's where you actually get results. Human connection isn't a nice-to-have in this work, it's the whole point.
I run this business the same way I run everything else — properly, or not at all. You'll find me DJing techno at 2am, in the gym burning off my restless energy, walking with a coffee talking myself through a problem out loud, or debating with a friend about what my star chart says about why I've been like this all week. Driven, direct, and not remotely precious about doing things the "normal" way.
If any of that sounds like your kind of person to work with —
